It's just a scare-train.\n\nWhat's true:\nDiscord does allow AI [apps](<https://discord.com/blog/discover-more-ways-to-play-with-apps-now-anywhere-on-discord>) including things like Midjourney (since 2022!) and the [DomoAI](<https://domoai.app/blog/domoai-x-discord-our-image-restyle-app-now-live-in-the-discord-app-directory>) everyone is upset about.\n\nWhat's not so true:\nThis isn't a new Discord partnership, and Discord isn't assisting Domo with harvesting content.\nDiscord currently (we'll see what the future holds) doesn't have anything in their ToS that allows harvesting content for training models.\nDomo's ToS explicitly disallows training, even on data you send it.\n**There are no hidden bots**. You can ban any account from Discord using a user ID- the \"banned\" message is the same for any account.\n\nWorth noting:\nUnforunately you **cannot** block these apps. Anyone can use them in any server.\nThere is a permission for \"external apps\" but it does not block them, it only makes them hidden in the server chat- users can still use them privately.",
