As an NEH (via AR humanities) (2015 - Plum Bayou Garden) and NSF (2010 - dissertation grant) recipient I can’t emphasize enough how destructive this all is. And not just to recipients or research broadly - but to all Americans - these grants can and do have a direct impact on the public good.
