FDA can only regulate the labeled indications, but cannot regulate doctors and/or pharmacists medical decisions (hence “off-label” uses); OTOH insurers are usually reluctant to cover off-label uses Bad-faith moves from FDA like this set up a collision between the law & sound medical judgment
