I am at the Victoria & Albert Museum today & delighted to find “Tippoo’s Tiger,” a wooden statue of a tiger eating a British soldier, which makes the sound of the soldier’s wails when cranked. It was owned by Tipu Sultan of Seringapatam prior to his death at the hands of British soldiers.
