Often, each state gets to introduce their own living wage. In most R states, that goes how you'd expect. My elderly neighbor can't get food assistance b/c in TN, $1248/month is "too wealthy". That's a house pymt, all insurances, all utilities, all non food items.. $1248 + buy food.
