A dozen years ago, I listened to Jose Mujica’s wise and prescient address to the UN General Assembly. He lambasted the market god that failed to deliver happiness and warned of “the chauvinistic nationalism of great powers.” May he rest easy. gadebate.un.org/en/68/uruguay
