All the expensive tricks required to make tapes sound good enough are gone. $500 quality decks Metal IV cassettes Dolby HX Pro NR Sony even had heavy ceramic IV blank tapes that cost $20 ea. So much easier to just listen to CDs and vinyls at a consistent higher quality.
