Born in D.C. in 1952, Reid Blackburn was well-liked—the consummate professional. He’d been with The Columbian since 1975. Creative and cautious, he was respected by colleagues and known for his knack of capturing a story in a single frame. He also met Fay at the paper. They married in 1979.
