I don't doubt that you can gain insights from ANNs by treating them *as if* they are neurons, but cellular diversity is a real issue. Brains are full of physical tricks that alter computation - e.g. L5Bs pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34380016 Training ANNs likely blurs this comp across both nodes & edges
