Therefore, I always try to tie in my own stage of life in these anniversary drawings, as it coincidentally always kind of mirrors the story I have planned out for him. I almost didn’t manage to make this illust in time this year as I haven’t been feeling very well over the last couple of months, but I’m proud that I made it.\n\nLast year, the theme was rebirth, as I felt a general unrest - and thus, change and adaptation was needed in order to escape being miserable - even if those changes turned out to be unfitting. This year… To not overshare, let’s just say - I feel like there’s nowhere to go than up. It’s dark, there’s a lot of shadow… But all hope isn’t lost - and I brought back Mu’s wings to reinstate that. He doesn’t canonically have wings anymore, but he’s always been a metaphorical angel to me, a comfort character since i was like... 15 years old. He's always made me happy. And he's destined for more than rotting in a hole. Destined to fly.\n\nMaybe I’ll draw him more with his wings from now on… I like it.",
