💯 And not embarrassing. I've been a PI for >29 years and I *still* never send a grant out w/o having someone outside the lab read it. Sometimes they tell me to completely reframe/rewrite it. And that's incredibly important feedback. Does require getting the grant done ahead of the deadline though.
