To replace the battery in the MacBook Pro (this is a 2017 model), you have to take out the trackpad and logic board, which is 50 steps into a tear down guide, and roughly 60 tiny screws. The battery is held in with solvent cement, and removing it requires solvent, which can’t touch anything.
