No. The lab wasn’t doing gain of function work on anything remotely similar to COVID. If one of its ‘chimeric viruses’ leaked we would have a SARS1 outbreak. There is no such thing as an ‘accidental’ version of the lab leak that aligns with anything we know about SARS-COV2.
