On 24 April 1900, whilst on route from Lerwick to Leith, the SS St Rognvald hit rocks on the north side of Stronsay, #Orkney and became grounded. There was heavy fog but the sea was calm and her 68 passengers and 36 crew all made it safely ashore [photo: Tom Kent; source: HLH Archives]
