There are a million ways people define autofiction, but I feel like one of the aspects of contemporary autofiction that is discussed glowingly (or not) as such is that it has an ironic or sort of wink-wink tone, whereas deeply sincere autofiction seems to not be discussed as that as much. Am I nuts?
