thread! I'd bet that whether the LLM use made the task easier (it didn't) or performed better (it didn't) was immaterial to worldcon. I've seen ppl go "where was the logic?" and the logic is "we're hype about AI because ~tech and ~progress" with absolutely no critical thought or principles involved
