#PostboxSatruday: a lovely Victorian Penfold hexagonal pillar box (1866-79) opposite 29 Great Pulteney Street, Bath, the home of Joseph Townsend where geologist William Smith dictated his Table of Strata in June 1799. No doubt Townsend would have posted his letters here, if he hadn't died in 1816.
