          "alt": "I am more worried about the societal construction around it being completely disproportionate. it really was used as a cudgel to lay off like half of the federal workforce with no obvious replacement, and the effects of that are going to take years to recognize. it's also being use to lay off people in the private sector with no immediate replacement either. it's actively degrading american life to save time on piecemeal tasks, while allowing for a fascist content generator to run rampant and unchecked. not denying basic utility on several fronts, but wasn't that just... machine learning? in many cases this is rebranded machine learning. anyway, taken in toto here, the juice ain't worth the squeeze, is all i'm saying.\n\n\nI am not full luddite here, and I already know use cases where it's useful as a tool in art or science or otherwise I ain't going full crank here. I just think the implications of the tech are cultural and human, they're almost exclusively negative in the macro sense, and they are far outweighing the use case positives",
