If, like me, you grew up in the Catholic Church before John Paul II’s pontificate, you knew a liberal, pro-social justice Church. I never imagined we’d get back to that given how he & Benedict so stacked the College of Cardinals. I feel like crying that we now have two liberal Popes in a row!
