100% Team Ian here. Expecting media to be free did incalculable damage. I grew up in an age where consumer tech mags carried loads of ads but said what they liked. Now, most mags are gone, and much coverage via eg YouTube influencers basically is ads. Great for PRs. Not so much for the public.
