Experimental browser for the Atmosphere
This is indeed confusing. I usually think in terms of Eqs. 4&5 because I find them more intuitive and easier to relate to SNNs. Apparently, there is an exact equivalence between Eq. 1 and Eqs. 4&5 explained in Miller and Fumarola (2011) NECO.
