here's what i mean by that... comparing german single stair (l) w/ US double loaded corridor (r) same number of bedrooms (7) double loaded corridor requires 1,000 s.f. more - not accounting for vertical circulation floor plate is 65' v. 42' for german 1,000 * $375/sf = $375k * 6 floors: $2.25M
