Supporting the workers who we’re depending on to build the new housing that we so desperately need should be a top priority for the city, and had I been in the room today representing Ward Four I would have stood with the laborers who deserve to earn fair wages every time they go to work to build our city.\n\nLooking forward, I am eager to get to work to assess the impact of today’s votes, ensuring that they have the intended impact of both protecting renters and ensuring new housing is built; to bring in the new development that we know is needed throughout Saint Paul so that we can house all of our residents, better distribute the tax burden, and create the thriving, vibrant city that we all want to see; and to find new ways to support workers and renters throughout the city.”",
