    "text": "Last I checked, it takes (about 23%) more energy input to make corn derived ethanol than you get out of it.\nThe whole mandate (in the US) to put corn ethanol in fuel is a subsidy to keep corn prices up.\n\nIt is an alright octane rating modifier though, just get it somewhere other than corn.",
