I once battled gnats a ton too, I feel u. I used the yellow stickies + systemic insecticide bits at work. But at home...if you have a south-facing windowsill and are willing to keep a jug of distilled water on hand, I highly recommend sundew plants ;D they attract and devour gnats happily.
