Let’s be clear. This isn’t a sign there isn’t demand for such bikes. The issue is Trek tried to launch it on the cheap and to push a lot of the financial risk onto its dealers. Had demos been available, take up would have been a lot higher. Hard to ask people to spend $11,000 when they can’t try it.
