This piece by Alexus Cazares-Nuesser, a graduate student in my department at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, shows why we need more research before contemplating deep-sea mining. It's wild how so many researchers funded by The Metals Company ultimately conclude that we shouldn't mine the deep sea.
