Yes, I mean we’ve known their opaque since forever. What I’m contending is that anthropomorphizing an output as it’s COT is layer that on top of a process that is opaque. We think we’re ‘reading’ the inner thought process, on analogy to humans knowing but not saying how they reached a conclusion
