“So you’re ‘513 BOU’, huh? Impressive… I’m only 278 BOU.” But I don’t care, cos I’m 775 PSL!! Pan-species listing is definitely the way forward @panspecieslisting.bsky.social - brings a whole new dimension to nature spotting for this jaded old low-lister. I had FIVE lifers yesterday. Mad, innit? 😀

"alt": "Makes me wish sorely that I’d stayed interested in all things natural history after early childhood. So many wonderful plants and insects I must’ve trudged past on a June day on patch, complaining that ‘it’s dead’, just cos it’s quiet on the bird front. \nHowever I’m only competing with myself (yeah, right): being unable/unwilling to trap/dissect, and without access to microscope, bat detector, clearwing lures, trail camera, or indeed portable DNA sequencer, I’m limited in the number of new species I can rack up. Will just have to stick to larger, more easily identified creatures. Like Otter, for example. Or Walrus. Now, I still ‘need’ Walrus… and Otter, for that matter.",
