While it clarifies choices further, Ponta endorsing Simion also deteriorates Nicusor Dan’s chances further. He needs some of that vote, absent an unprecedented mobilization of previous pro EU non-voters. There will be some of this for sure, but I doubt it’ll be enough to see off the radical right.
