          "alt": "Despite being, I think, a better story overall than the original anime run...the way it's told, the way it's paced (to rush through what the original anime covered AND the wonky pacing afterward due to following the manga), the new art style, revelatory moments not having the emotional weight they should, it's all so kinda ass that I can't help but feel I prefer the original is almost all respects. That said, the backstory flashback arc with Matamune is so shockingly good compared to the rest?? It's so good that it alone makes this worth a look if you miss the original Shaman King and want to know more about what the mangaka had in mind for the series. ",
